Walkers all heart

The rain this past Saturday didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of Team Toronto Rehab as they participated in the 35th anniversary of the Cardiac Health Foundation of Canada’s (CHFC) WALK OF LIFE, held at the Ontario Science Centre.

Grateful patients and staff from Toronto Rehab’s Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation Program achieved top fundraising status at the event that was originally founded to help advance Toronto Rehab’s pioneering research and advocacy of walking and exercise.
Having surpassed his goal and raising $11,600, event top fundraiser and graduate of Toronto Rehab’s Cardiac Rehab program, Roberto Lio, recently shared his incredible story of how he transformed his lifestyle and heart health. He describes why he is so passionate about giving back to Toronto Rehab and asking others to join him. Read his story at UHN.ca

“When I ask people to sponsor me, they know it is a fundraiser, but they also know that it is something that I believe in, because it helped me so much,” says Roberto.

We are grateful to Roberto and all the members of Team Toronto Rehab for braving the elements and carrying on the tradition of On Track to Cardiac Recovery in supporting such vital initiatives as Health e-University and renovations to Toronto Rehab’s Rumsey Cardiac Centre.  Thank you for helping make incredible happen!
