This past Sunday, October 23rd, the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon returned to our streets and spotlighted the incredible efforts of our participants in accomplishing their personal bests and giving back to support discovery and care at Toronto Rehab.

Thank you and congratulations to our teams who tackled 42k, 21k, and 5k events: Team “I Will.” (led by Robert MacDonald), Bickle Outrunners (led by Amanda Beales and Amy Nightingale), Lakeside (led by Rachelle Cuaresma-Canlas) and Runners With Heart (led by Ross Durant). Together, they raised over $88,000 through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge. There is still time to support your favourite team through the event website

Toronto Rehab Foundation’s Kevin Geddes volunteered at his first Marathon last year and was inspired to join Team “I Will.” this year.

“What appeared to be ‘just another running club’, turned out to be so transformational and inspirational - it's a living and breathing self-improvement support system,” says Kevin who completed his first half marathon.

Team “I Will” currently tops the 2018 Scotiabank Charity Challenge Team leaderboard with 135 members having raised $78,011 to date. To the team members, "I Will." means: motivation, perseverance, accountability, and community.

Team “I Will.” was featured by Canada Running Series in August 2018

Kevin and his colleagues from Toronto Rehab Foundation spent the weekend at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Expo where they encouraged runners to sign-up and to find their own “I Will”. To learn more, please contact Kevin at 416-597-3422 ext. 3290 or kevin.geddes@uhn.ca.
