Celebrating Brain Awareness Week

As home of the largest Brain Injury Rehab program in Canada and a leader in developing innovative solutions to enhance brain and mental health for people living with disabilities, Toronto Rehab is celebrating Brain Awareness Week from March 13-19, 2017.

Brain Awareness Week is the global campaign to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research.

Did you know that people with disabilities are at greater risk of experiencing mental health problems? This is especially true for people with cognitive and physical impairments resulting from a severe brain injury or dementia. Evidence shows that they experience depression and anxiety twice as often as the general population.

We invite you to join Toronto Rehab world experts on April 11th for our Health Innovation Series event: Mental Health and Disability. You will enjoy a light breakfast and be inspired by Toronto Rehab Guest Speakers:

  • Dr. Ron Keren, a geriatrician, specializes in memory and Alzheimer’s and addresses the behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.
  • Dr. Abraham Snaiderman, a renowned neuropsychiatrist, explores the ways in which brain injury causes mental health issues.
  • Dr. Robin Green is developing new scaled-up approaches to delivering therapies to patients right across the province, while investigating how to increase brain health to improve mental health.
